That One Blanket I Worked on for a Year

Also known as the Avatar Blanket! I actually finished this blanket back in March, but never got around to taking pictures of the final product, so I am doing so today.

Ta-da!

Appa for scale

So this project took me almost exactly a year. Phew! However, the finished product was well worth the effort. It drapes across a twin really well and is super warm. I used Red Heart super saver yarn and so I just threw it in the wash (hang dry after) and it softens up a bit. Also, a lot of fellow ATLA fans have admired it and jokeingly offered me money for it (heck no!). But it's actually a pretty simple project. All in all, I'm very pleased.

Here is the pattern so you can make your own: http://kimby77.wordpress.com/2008/01/15/avatar-the-four-elements/

"Water,

Earth,

Fire,

Air,

Long ago the four nations lived together in harmony.
Then, everything changed when the fire nation attacked.
Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them
But when the world needed him most, he vanished.
100 years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar,
An airbender named Aang.
And although his airbending skills are great,
He's got a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone.
But I believe, Aang can save the world."
